radial tiresTires with two or more layers of casing plies and cord loops running radially from bead to bead. | |
radiationThe movement of energy through space, such as the movement of energy from the sun to the Earth. | |
radiatorA device that transfers heat from an internal fluid to an external location. | |
radiator hosesRubber hoses that connect the radiator to the engine. Because they are subject to pressure, they are reinforced with a layer of fabric, typically nylon. Some use coiled wire to prevent hose collapse as the coolant cools. | |
radiusA straight line extending from the center of a circle to its edge or from the center of a sphere to its surface. | |
ram airflowThe flow of air created by a vehicle moving down the road. | |
rare-earth magnetA magnet that is made from an alloy of neodymium (Nd), iron (Fe), and boron (B). | |
ratchetA handle for sockets that allows the user to select the direction of rotation. It can turn sockets in restricted areas without the user having to remove the socket from the fastener. | |
