The agency that assures safe and healthy working conditions by setting and enforcing standards and by providing training, outreach, education, and assistance.


off-going ratio test

A test performed at the beginning of a shift in progress in the World Transmission to ensure that the off-going clutch has released.


ohm

The unit for measuring electrical resistance.


Ohm’s law

An electrical law that defines the relationship between amperage, resistance, and voltage.


oil slinger

A stamped steel ring used to throw lubricant in a certain direction.


oil weep

Very minor oil seepage usually caused by a wicking effect and not usually a reason for a repair.


oiler

A device used to add oil to the A/C system.


on-coming ratio test

A test performed near the end of a shift in progress in the World Transmission to ensure that the on-coming clutch has applied.


onboard diagnostics (OBD)

Self-diagnostic capabilities of electronic control modules that allow them to evaluate voltage and current levels of circuits to which they are connected and determine if data is in the correct operational range.


one-way check valve

A valve with the purpose to protect the air reservoirs and other air system storage units from completely draining if a leak occurs downstream of one reservoir.
