fast chargersA type of battery charger that charges batteries quickly. | |
fastenersDevices that securely hold items together, such as screws, cotter pins, rivets, and bolts. | |
fatigue strengthThe maximum stress a fastener can withstand for a specified number of repeated cycles before failing. | |
feedback signalA voltage signal sent back to an electronic control unit. It is how the control module is able to interpret temperature or other information from its sensors. | |
feedback systemA system that uses feedback to adjust what it is doing. Typically, a module gives a command and waits to see if the command was followed by use of a sensor. | |
feeler gaugesFlat metal strips used to measure the width of gaps, such as the clearance between valves and rocker arms; also called feeler blades. | |
fiber optic cablesFine glass fibers through which light is transmitted. | |
fill plugUsually, a threaded plug that can be removed to allow the level of a fluid to be checked and filled. This could also be a rubber snap-fit plug. | |
